Around the World | India

Mr Fogg's Society of Exploration

Covent Garden, London

Our courageous explorers have left Italy, marking the completion of their first chapter of the Around the World journey. Their next stop was the most populous city of India, the quintessential city of dreams – Mumbai! A whirlwind of colours and chaos, the intrepid pair explored the many wonders of Mumbai, from tasting the rare and rather peculiar fruits of India, to visiting its array of architectural monuments, such as the famous Gateway of India.

Discovering a rare moment of peace and serenity, they watched the sun rise against the city’s skyline and small colourful houses from a charming fishing village in Worli, located on the western shoreline of Mumbai. After a somewhat hectic few days in India’s largest city, our explorers headed west to Varanasi on Day 12 of their journey… Arriving in Varanasi to a sea of smiling faces, they explored one of the most sacred Hindu rivers by sailing through the holy river of Ganges.

As the sun set over the river, the duo experienced an evening of uplifting traditions involved in the spiritual Aarti ceremony, including a chants of mantra, lamps of fire and the fragrant smell of incense. Following the beautiful hustle and bustle of India, the Around the World explorers will make their way to Darjeeling and shall spend the remainder of their week in India, before traversing the sea to our next stop… Singapore!
