Explorer Series – Ed Jackson
Monday 20th January 6:01pm - 8:01pm
Mr Fogg's Residence
Kicking off a brand new year of the Explorer Series, we welcome former professional rugby player and recovering quadriplegic, Ed Jackson, into his humble Mayfair home, Mr Fogg’s Residence on Monday 20th January 2020. Following a rugby career spanning 10 years, in 2017, Ed Jackson suffered a spinal cord injury which left him paralysed from the neck down and a medical prognosis that he would never walk again. Through sheer determination and intense rehabilitation, Ed defied all odds and climbed Mount Snowdon just a year after his accident. For one night only, guests are invited to settle into Mr Fogg’s Residence and listen to inspirational tales as Ed discusses how he has turned setbacks into serious comebacks.
Ed Jackson’s career saw him play for Bath, Wasps, London Welsh and the Dragons, before a horrific spinal cord injury in 2017 left him with a broken neck and shattered vertebrae. Despite being told his paralysis was almost certainly permanent, with a positive mental attitude, Ed defied opinion and within a year of his horrific accident, he was climbing mountains and inspiring others to overcome their fears. Nearly three years on, he has founded the charity Millimetres To Mountains and become a motivational speaker, inspiring others to manage their physical and mental energy to encourage positive behaviours and focus on achieving their goals no matter how impossible they may seem.
